Year after year, the government always takes measures to ban public smoking in China yet with little result. First of all, the government should enforce bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship on the first agenda, which will exert a positive impact on Chinese people. In addition, it’s essential that the government make a specific law on how to ban public
smoking such as fining those who smoke in public places heavily and punishing those factories which abuse tobacco.
Meanwhile, citizens in China also share the responsibility to ban public smoking. For one thing, instead of smoking in public places, smokers should smoke in the specific smoking section and try to get rid of smoking for the sake of both their and others’ health. For another, nonsmokers are supposed to have an eye on people around and if they find someone smoking in public places, they should complain to relevant departments.
To conclude, banning public smoking in China needs cooperation of the government and all citizens. No one is separated from this issue as public smoking threatens everyone’s health.
