FuelandOilResistantTubingEpichlorohydrin–Non-Reinforced1Scope

Thisspecificationcoversonetypeofnon-reinforcedflexibletubingforuseinevaporativeemissionssys-temsandvacuumsystemsandwhichisintendedtowithstandcontinuousservicetemperaturesfrom−40to+125󰀎C.Thismaterialisnotsuitableforappli-cationsinwhichitcouldbeexposedtooxidizedfueloroxidizedfuelmixtures(i.e.mapsensortubing).1.1MaterialDescription.1.1.1MaterialIdentification.

1.1.1.1Construction.Thetubingshallconsistofasinglewallofnon-bloomingepichlorohydrincopoly-mer.Tubingshallbeblack.

1.1.1.2TubeMarking.Thetubingshallbelegiblymarkedwiththefollowinginformationinthesequencestated:Nominalinsidediameterexpressedasfrac-tionofaninch(Ex.:5/32),GMspecificationnum-ber(GM6148M),datecode,tubemanufacturer’scodeidentificationasdesignatedbyRubberManufactur-ersAssociation,andthemanufacturingplantlocationcode.Suchmarkingshallbeprintedparalleltotheaxisinwhiteorlightblueblocklettersnotlessthan

3mmhighandtheopenspacebetweenthespecifiedmarkingsshallnotexceed25mm.

1.1.1.2.1Thedatecodeshallconsistofsixdigits:thefirsttwodigitsshallrepresentthemonth(01through12)oftheyear,thenexttwoshallrepresentthedayofthemonth(01through31),andthelasttwoshallbethelasttwodigitsoftheyear.

1.1.1.2.2Partsconformingtothisspecificationwhicharetooshortforthemarkingrequiredin1.1.1.2shallbemarkedasspecifiedbythepurchaser’sengineer-ingdepartment.

1.1.1.3DimensionsandTolerances.Tubingfur-nishedtothisspecificationshallconformtothedimen-sionsandtolerancesshowninTable1forthesize(nominalinsidediameter)specifiedbythepurchaser.Note:Concentricitybasedontotalindicatorreadingbetweeninsideboreofoutersurfaceoftubeshallnotexceedvaluesgivenbelow:

5RulesandRegulations
