Display controlinformation including the area information of sub regions set as the display areas of lefteye and right eye subtitles, target frame information, and disparity information istransmitted in addition to the stereoscopic image data, and stereoscopic image subtitledata. Disparity to be provided to left eye and right eye subtitles can dynamically bechanged in sync with change in the contents of an image. Shift information is generatedwith sub pixel precision.
