The Significance of Cooperation

The story above is not simply about fish or fishing, but about the significance of cooperation. When you are suffering from hunger, which help will you choose? A basket of fishes, which can fill your stomach at once, or a fishing rod that can be used to fish? The short story tells us that only the combination of the basket with fishes and the fishing rod can save two hungry people. Obviously, we can draw a conclusion easily—sometimes, when we are facing difficulties, cooperation may be a wiser choice.

In the contemporary society, increasing importance has been attached to cooperation, as more and more opportunities and challenges emerge. Taking the Computer Association of RUC for example, five departments are included in the association. Once there is a task, the cooperation of the five departments starts. The Project Department figures out the plan; the Liaison finds the sponsor; the Propaganda creates posters and leaflets; the Technique is in charge of technical support; and the Office files the whole process of the activity. The association is like our hand, and the five departments are the fingers. Open your hand, you will be very flexible, but when the challenge comes, only clenching your fist can make you strong enough.

In brief, the power of cooperation is so enormous that it can accelerate your speed of driving to success. 作文2.

Almost everyone who once came to Beijing is familiar with this phenomenon the picture shows: the garbage cans, the stop signs at the bus stops or the walls of public buildings, etc. are spotted with small pieces of advertisements. Some are for used items, like mobile phones, bikes; some others are for house renting; still others are for small clinics that claim to specialize in various difficult diseases. What does this patchwork bring to the public? We can easily find the answer from the boy who is confused about where to put the soft drink container, and the angry man behind the stop sign anxiously reading the stop names already covered by patches of small ads. As a matter of fact, these small ads not only bring inconvenience to the public, but also spoil the environment. They are just like the ugly patches on the beautiful garment of our city. What’s worse, these small advertisements are illegal, spreading false information that may trap the gullible people(诱骗轻信的人们) or those who are eager to solve their problems.

So, we should take effective measures to stop this kind of immoral behaviors(制止这种不道德的行为). We can use the telephone numbers and addresses as clues to track down(追查) those advertisers and impose punishment on them(对他们施以处罚). Otherwise, we can never clean up(清理) the environment, or protethe public benefits.

The brief passage above shows us an anecdote (奇闻/轶事) of William Mckinley, the 25th president of America. Once in a meeting, a senator assaulted Mckinley verbally to let out his dissatisfaction with Mckinly’s decision toward some problems. Such is a scene that is not supposed to occur, considering the distinct boundary between their statuses. Mckinley, however, listened to the senator’s inappropriate remarks calmly and politely and then stood up to defy him with a rational reason, which rendered the senator blushed and opposing voice in the senate faded away. This is the power of tolerance. Imagine that Mckinley interrupted the senator’s speech rudely and argued with him aggressively as President, I doubt that he would win such a total triumph so easily.

Tolerance, an ability to endure disagreement and suffer from an unfavorable condition, is an essential and crucial ingredient on the way to success. Without tolerance, Gou Jian, would never return to his throne, burdened with ten years’ humiliation. Without tolerance, peace would never befall countries such as China, where more than fifty minorities and different beliefs coexist.

Numerous examples like those listed above speak for themselves, indicating that only with tolerance, can individuals find their paths to success, and only with tolerance, can the world find its path to peace.

This passage tells us an inspiring story of a man whose diligence and perseverance impressed people all over the world. Edison, one of the most well-known and outstanding inventors and scientists on this planet, almost spent the whole of his life in making miracles after miracles for the welfare of the world. One evidence for this is his 1,000 inventions through his life.

Edison’s success can be attributed to two major factors. One is his diligence. This can be best illustrated by one of his sayings: a genius is made up of one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent of perspiration. His belief can also be proved by his numerous inventions. Another factor that contributes to his success is his courage to face failures and his spirit of never giving up until achieving success as long as he rendered that it was worthy.

From the above story, I learn that if anyone wants to make his dream—from doing daily work to going abroad to further one’s education—come true, he is supposed to do whatever is necessary. The first of all-that-is-necessary is to be persistent and hard-working.

作文5 Now,computers are widely used in the modern world. They have found their way to millions of government offices, institutions, enterprises, companies and households. High up in space and deep down in oceans, they are used to make the scientific discoveries. On farms and factories, they help to do difficult work. In offices and at homes, they take the place of routine jobs. In fact, without computers, the world would not be what it is today.

Computers make a lot of impossible things possible. Take E-mail for example, it is a complete different way of communication through computers. Being efficient, inexpensive and convenient, it connects the people from all parts of the world. As can be seen clearly, computers with their magical capabilities, fantastic speed and unbelievable convenience have become the most helpful “partners” of human beings. Some people, however, argue that computers can never replace human brains altogether, but it is also true that computers will be further proved to work more wonders in the coming new century. Therefore, let us learn and use computers in order to meet the challenges of the new era. 作文6

Science and Human Beings

As is known to all, science has played an unimaginable role in the history of the world’s development. It is the knowledge that people abstract from their work. It is also the knowledge with which people are armed to understand and master the natural world.

Science has changed our lives and made our lives easier. For example, with electronic appliances like radios, televisions and telephones, our life is much more enjoyable than ever before. With the invention of satellites and computers we can communicate with people far at the other part of the world. In short, science to human being is like food to our bodies; without food we canot survive; without science, the world cannot develop. In order to have a better world, we should have scientific attitudes towards all the things around us. “Call a spade a spade” is the priority in dealing with the environment. Besides, being curious, patient, accurate are also necessary for us to discover how the process works and how events take place. Only doing this way can we have a brighter future in this new century. 作文7

This is a very interesting and enlightening picture, which serves as a trigger for people to make an analogy between a real hotpot and a cultural one.

In a real sense, a hotpot is a popular food in China because people could choose and put in the hotpot whatever they prefer eating such as mutton, beef, and all kinds of different vegetables to meet and satisfy their different needs of taste.

But what this hotpot contains in the picture is quite different. It has all kinds of domestic and alien cultural ingredients, ranging from history, religion, literature, drama, Peking Opera to science and technology. Obviously, it is not meant for eating but it is essentially good gor mental pursuit of people.

Globalization is a contemporary trend that no one can ignore. With the economic

3

integration, culture has become a hot and indispensable topic. Never in history have so many people travelled around the world and never in history have the contacts between people been so frequent. Therefore, to understand and respect cultural differences in the globalized world cannot be avoided. The cultural hotpot is a manifestation of today’s world.

Just as different foods and vegetables are mixed and melted in the boiling hotpot, differences of various cultures would be ollided and blended in the development of globalization. It should be fully aware that every culture is unique and every culture is a pprecious heritage of the world. In the trend of globalization, we should remember we are more than citizens of China. We are citizens of the world. Only with this perspective can we or can every culture survive better in this globalized hotpot. 作文8

Advantages of Travelling

People, especially young people, are always filled with anticipation when a vacation is drawing near. There will often spring up a heated discussion about how to spend their vacations. More often than not many of them would prefer a trip to other places bacauses travelling does have some attractions.

The first greatest charm of travelling is to experience the freshness of a completely unknown place by visiting place of historic interest, meeting different people with their dialect difficult to understand and tasting different food. Through these wonderful experience, people can broaden their horizons and expand their scope of knowledge which they can never get from books and classrooms.

Another irresistible lure is the relaxation that only travelling can offer after long period of hard work and tension. Keeping away from familiar people and surroundings for a short time and being in a free mental state, people can enjoy a complete relaxation.

Besides, people like travelling not only because of the many other opportunity it provides and the relaxation they appreciate but also because of many other advantages that traveling brings about. For example, people can take the chance to make more friends and to know more about the different ways of thinking. Moreover, travel can strengthen our health through climbing mountains or going on foot more frequetly. To sum up, it is well worh our time and money since travelling is beneficial to people in so many ways. 作文 9

This is a very moving and enlightening story. As we can see in the story, there is a salesman who sold balloons on the street. To attract people to buy his balloons, he often released balloons of a different color to the sky, such as white, red and yellow, one bright color each time. After a while, a Negro boy came to ask him whether the black balloon could fly. The man told him with a smile:“The flying of the balloons just depends on their inside, not on the appearance.”. Clearly, it is not difficult to read his meaning! It told us that any success depends just on your inside, in other words, your success is in your hands.

Obviously, the answer is a comfort to the small boy who was looked down upon because of the color. But what the salesman said also reveals a truth in the society. In

4

reality, they are very few success that can be attributed to the outside appearance.

But it is known that many similar things happen around us. According to some reports, lots of university graduates who had just graduated from universities went to have cosmetic surgery in order to get a perfect appearance. They thought the nice appearance can impress the employer, which can help them to get a desirable job. Actually, this will do no good in the long run because they ignored the inside of themselves.

In my opinion, success should contain at least two important inner qualities, confidence and knowledge. The example of Stephen William Hawking, a famous scientist, who was a disabled and who got a great success, stunning the world, can best illustrate the truth. Just because he had enough knowledge and confidence, he believed his future was in his hands.

In conclusion, real success only shines on those who exert themselves whole-heartedly with adequate knowledge. If you want to be success, no one can help you but yourself. The key to success is from your inside. 作文 10

Nowadays people in growing numbers are more concerned about their health. Some of them spend a lot of money on all kinds of medicines, which they assume, would be helpful to their health. Some of them put more money on nutritional supplements. They believe their health could be maintained by this nutritional balance. They are still some people who participate in some kind of sport.

The way mentioned above may be important for certain people to keep fit, but they are not as helpful as the way of keeping a healthy living. Facts have demonstrated that people can achieve good health if they keep the following rules: Do not smoke or drink, eat good regular meals and get enough sleep, and lastly but most importantly, have a moderate amount of exercises. Keeping a healthy living has been proved by those who have outlived their contemporaries.

However, they are still some people who do not pay attention to their health. Some of them join in the smokers though they have a good knowledge of its harmfulness. Some people exercise less than twice per week, some even not at all. When this type of people get worse in their physical conditions they more often than not resort to medicines or nutritional supplements. Accordingly, it is high time that we reminded those who want to enjoy good health to bear this in mind: A healthy living will lead to a healthy body. 作文 11

Whether students can get married at school is not a new issue for most of us. However, whether college students should be permitted to get married or not is still being under discussion. In my opinion, it is not an issue which should be controlled by university. Students can get married if they exceed the legal age. Firstly, not every student is too young to get married. With the change of university entrance exam policy, there are an increasing number of adult students coming to colleges. Some of them may already get married. Some of them may be old enough to get married. So we cannot simply forbid them to have a marriage. Secondly, as today’s students always have open minds, we can

5

control them being married or not, but we cannot stop them to have an affair. In that matter, marriage may help them establishing stable relationship and force them to take responsibilities. Some may argue that college should maintain its academic atmosphere, which may be spoiled by permitting students to get married in college. However, there is no evidence showing that direct links between number of couples and academic atmosphere. Married teachers also live on campus.

In conclusion, colleges have no right to stop students from getting married, and they do not need to. Marriage is a natural thing for every adult. Marriage help young adult to have stable relationship and make them take their responsibilities. In addition, it won’t hurt academic atmosphere. 作文 12

A lot of graduates choose to work in the countryside as village officials for several years at the beginning of their career lives. This can benefit not only the countryside, but also graduates themselves.

On one hand, college graduates’ broad visual field and innumerable new ideas can help villages construct the countryside. A newspaper report shows a student who graduated from university, named Lin pin, worked as a village official in Shanxi province. He used his professional knowledge in management field to improve the working efficiency in that village and help villagers establish an on-line wholesales company which led village products to overseas markets. The graduates are also full of latest knowledge. Students majored in agriculture bring new skills and vitalities to the countryside to help farmers improve productivities and attached values.

One the other hand, students also benefit from their village positions. What they gain from villages’ work could modify their aims of study which would be treasures in the rest of their lives. Nowadays what the students learn in the university may not be closely related to reality, but they are not aware of it. Experiences of village lives would open a door for them to have a better understanding of civilian people’s needs. This, in turn, would make students think how to deal with day-to-day problems, and modify their study aims to more practical ones.

In one word, college graduates working as village officials have a lot of merits. It helps developing the countryside. It is also good for graduates self-perfection. 作文13

It is reported that nowadays aging population has made up of more than 11 percent of Chinese population, and this number is still rising. This phenomenon gives rise to a complex social problems, the focus of which is who and how to take care of the seniors.

Traditional point of views believes that the elderly people should be taken care of by their children. It is undeniable that supporting parents is a virtue. However, is it still a practical way for all modern people to give the elderly a comprehensive look-after? Having conducted one-child policy for around thirty years, now one couple might have to support four seniors at the same time which may lay a heavy burden on this couple. If the government does not plan a financial aid to this kind of families, most of them may fail to keep their living standards. The burden is not only

6

about money, but also concerning about time and energy they could spend on elders. As stressful as it is to modern society, it is really and equally hard for children to pay more attention to their parents than a home for the seniors does.

To conclude, the seniors are better to be supported by both country and their children, and nursing houses may take better care of the elders than children can do, because the only child can hardly afford to take care of his or her parents by his/her own. 作文14

Augest once said the great job always began with self-confidence. If we believe in ourselves, and then we try our best, everything can come true eventually. Self-confidence can both affect ourselves and people around us in its special way. Everybody has enormous potential which requires us to dig it out by employing self-confidence. Some people are disabled, but confident about themselves and gain success by their own, such as Huang Jinfeng, who established a famous factory. She said to the reporter that “It is not who we are that is holding us back. It is who we think we are.” If a person is confident about himself, he would shine like a sun and influence everyone else. Making others believe in him is making others follow him and support home to get success. Carnegie gained his popularity worldwide partly because of his self-confident speeches which have touched thousands of hundreds of people.

Self-confidence is a key to success. Not only because it helps one to discover oneself, but also because one’s believing in oneself makes others believe in him or her. These all help a person to get final success in his life. 作文15

The meaning of the story is very profound and thought-provoking. In the story a South Korean young man made an impressive research on the mindset of people who have achieved success. He found that many people who want to be successful were terrified by the uncommon experiences of those successful people. In fact, this is not true. In his research, he discovered that the real reason for success lies in the quality of perseverance. His findings not only have encouraged many people to achieve what they want but also have made himself the president of an automobile company in South Korean.

Perseverance is one of the major keys to success. The success of many people in history can best illustrate this point. What they usually do is to put their whole heart into the cause they are interested in. The achievement of Thomas Edison, a world famous inventor, who had more than one thousand inventions, was out of, first, interest and then perseverance. It is conceivable that we cannot get light without his perseverance. He really confronted huge amounts of difficulties when he invented the lamp. But due to his interest, no matter how difficult it was, he never deserted his ideal.

Therefore, being success is not as difficult as one can imagine. The adherence to what one is interested in is a very important principle. So go ahead and be afraid of nothing.
