A: Excuse me。 Could you tell me how to get to the National

History Museum?

B: Certainly,ma’am。 It’s near the Science Museum。 Are you familiar with the streets around here?

A: No。 I am a tour leader from China. Today I’ll go to visit the museum with some tourists.

B： I see. How would you like to go？ Walking？ A: I have no idea about it at all. Is it far from the hotel？ B: Not really. You just go straight along this street，and after 6 blocks,you will see it on your left。 A: How long will that take？ B: About 30 minutes on foot. A: How about taking the subway?

B： Sure. It’s only two stops. Do you know which train to take？

A: The A train，is it right? I just looked at the city map. B： That’s right. You get off at the second stop,Cronwell

Road,and you will see the National History Museum is opposite the stop.

A： What if I take a bus?

B: It’s rush hour now。 The traffic is terrible. If you take a bus,you may get stuck in the traffic jam.

A： I see。 Do you know where the nearest subway station is？ B： There is one at the corner. I'll take you there. A: That is very kind of you.Thanks a lot。 B： Don’t mention it.

B: Take the express。 It saves you a lot of time. The local train stops at every station. A： How much is the fare?

B： 30 cents。 You can get a ticket from the ticket machine. A： What should I do with the ticket？

B: You slip it into the slot at the turnstile and then push the turnstile to get in。

A： I see. Thanks a lot。

3。Taking Buess and Taxis（乘巴士和计程车） Scene 1

A： Excuse me,ma’am。 Does this bus get to the City Square？ B： Oh，no。 You should take bus No.38. A： Thank you。 Where can we take it? B： Near the mail office。

B: Yes,ma'am. Where to？

A: Can you take me to the Park Hotel?

B: Sure,ma’am。 May I help you with your luggage？ A： No，thanks. I’d rather keep this case with me。 How long does it take to get to the hotel？

B： About 25 minutes if the traffic is not too heavy.

A: The accident is at the intersection of 50th avenue and Park

B: Please keep the scene of the accident intact。 We’ll come right now。 A： All right,sir.

B: Great. May I see your driver's license?

A: Sorry，sir. I’m not the driver. I’m a tour leader from China。 B: Where is the driver?

A: The driver is seriously injured. He broke his arm. We’ve called an ambulance to send him to the hospital already。 B： Do you have your passport with you? A: Yes，sir。 It’s right in my bag.

B： Would you come with us to the police station？ A: Why do I need to?

B： Well，we need your help for the report。 A: Sure. I'll go now.
