摘要：The invention provides a method of separating uranium from another metal, themethod comprising the steps of providing the uranium in a higher oxidation state than inUO2; dissolving the uranium and other metal in an organic solvent; and selectivelyextracting the uranium from the organic solvent using a supercritical fluid. The method issuitable for use in reprocessing spent nuclear fuel. The present invention provides a \"dry\"method of separating uranium from another metal, i.e. the method does not require useof nitric acid for dissolution of spent nuclear fuel or large quantities of solvent forsolvent extraction as in conventional Purex reprocessing.
